On May 14, 2019, the Rotary Club of Kansas City, Kansas hosted the annual State of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas. The Club has a long history of hosting this annual address, dating back to the 1960’s.
 
Mayor David Alvey delivered his second address as Mayor of Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County. An estimated 350 people were in attendance to hear the mayor.  The mayor's theme was "Building a Great City -  From Our Neighborhoods Up".  He touched on progress made and numerous accomplishments, while noting those things that still need to be done.  He recognized several individuals that have helped make the city better.
