An Overview of Folk Alliance International

Erika manages all aspects of communications and marketing for Folk Alliance International together with a marvelously talented team. Folk Alliance International located to Kansas City from Memphis in 2014. Its mission is to nurture, engage and empower the international folk music community — traditional and contemporary, amateur and professional — through education, advocacy and performance.

Erika is passionate about community development and civic engagement and holds onto the belief that an engaged society can be a powerful force for good. She has worked as a community organizer in Kansas City neighborhoods and political campaigns, served in leadership roles in the non-profit sector and academia, and directed national-level marketing events and thought leadership programs. Erika studied Anthropology at the University of Kansas and received her MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
