Happenings at the Wyandotte County Museum

Amy Loch is the new Director of the Wyandotte County Historical Museum.  She came to the museum from the Stillwater History Museum in Oklahoma, where the museum reached record attendance through new programming, exhibit development and increased marketing efforts during her tenure.  

Previously she served as Director of the Logan County Historical Society in Guthrie where she produced the award winning WPA Tour series and successfully wrote the nomination to list the Excelsior Library on the National Register of Historic Places. Prior to moving to Oklahoma, Amy was the Curator at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita, Kansas and the Registrar at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in Maryland.  Amy is the current Treasurer of the Mountain Plains Museum Association and has served on multiple local historical society and museum boards.  

She holds a MA in Public History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in History with a minor in Business from Immaculata University.  She is married to Dr. Mark Janzen, a fellow museum professional and historian whom she met in Wichita in 2006.
